Good policies help us to deliver the quality of service our students deserve.
POLICY 1: SCHEDULE
The yearly lesson calendar includes 40 lessons from August-June. Students are expected to attend their lessons weekly, including 6-8 Performance Classes (which replace the regular lesson for that week). When students enroll in a time slot, they are committing to keep that time slot for the entire lesson schedule block. A calendar is provided in advance for the Performance Class times, as they may be at a different time than the student's regular lesson. Please be on time for the lesson and for pickup at the end of the lesson.
Students also receive 2 to 3 opportunities within the 1-year schedule to perform at recitals. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and support their student.
POLICY 2: TUITION
Yearly tuition is $1320, and is broken into 12 monthly payments of $110. Payment can be made with a credit or bank card through our online payment services. Tuition covers lessons, student rewards, recital venues, and books/materials. New students will be charged a one-time $50 registration/binder fee.
Students who join Entrada Piano Academy in the middle of the year will have tuition prorated, as will students who aren't able to complete an entire year.
POLICY 3: MAKE UP LESSONS
Students who may need to miss their regularly scheduled lesson may reschedule into an existing open time slot. Otherwise, we do not offer make-up lessons. If students are ill or will be out of town for an extended period, they may schedule more than one lesson in a week based on open slots available.
POLICY 4: PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS AND PROGRESS
Students at Entrada are expedted to practice 4-5 days per week, marking off their practice chart on the practice app. As far as the amount of time spent each day, that will vary from student to student depending on their goals. We understand that life gets busier at some times than others, and that's okay. But we want our students to understand what they are choosing into when they practice, and when they don't. You can expect to complete approximately 1 level per year by practicing 30 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week, and passing 4 items a week. Students who commit to longer practice times and passing off more than 4 items a week are the same students who enjoy faster progress. But it is up to the student and parent - we believe that any student can learn to play if they will put in the time.
We celebrate every inch of progress by marking it on the student's Piano Points Sheet in their binders. We want students to feel that each step forward is important, and that it matters. Paying attention to and rewarding the practice details also helps reinforce the good processes they are learning here. At the end of each quarter, students have a visual chart of their progress which helps us set goals for the next quarter.
Students are supported and encouraged to participate in local competitions and festivals, and we prepare them for a successful experience in those.
POLICY 5: OTHER
Please make sure students come with clean hands (or they can wash their hands when they arrive), and that they don't bring food to their lessons. Also no toys, games, phones, or smart watches allowed. (They may keep their phones or watches in a bag but not on their body during lessons). Thanks!
